May 05 chicagoApril 13 long weeked (4) The fourth day is very much educational and melody. We saw the Christian Lacroix exhibition at National Museum of Singapore. They only have 50-60 costumes and other sketches but the whole exhibition space was well planned. The free guided tour are very informational and helpful to understand the concepts of stage costume designs. ![]() 2) Piano Recital by Kenneth Hamilton Kenneth Hamilton is a pianist from Scotland and recently he comes to singapore once a year for a piano recital. He has never made any CD but was capable of playing both very powerful and soft songs. Very British and Germany style with great sense of humor. We didn't expect that much since the ticket sounds cheap $28 SGD. So very nice surprise to wrap up the long weekend! ![]() long weekend (3) We shopped around the Arab street and the Haji Lan on the third day afternoon. Haji lane is a narrow lane with many boutiques and vintage clothings stores, furniture and life concept shops. Eash store has its own deco style. Dinner at 1) The Tapas Tree Their spanish food was okay but more importantly, they got a lovely view over the Singapore river. There was live bands with spanish/flamingo style songs. Clubs: 2) The Pump Room (#01-09): plenty of 80's and 90's music 3) Cuba Libra Cafe & Bar (#01-13 The Foundry, Clarke Quay): Nice salsa and drum music long weekend (2) We got up late in the morning and decided to take the two o'clock afternoon ferry to Bintan. 1) Angsana Resort & Spa Jalan Teluk Berembang, Laguna Bintan Resort, Lagoi 29155, Bintan Resorts, Indonesia +62 770 69 3111 www.angsana.com As Bintan uses USD as currency, so everything looks relatively expensive, espeically comparing with Malay and Thailand. We booked a six o'clock spa because we had to rush back for the last ferry at 8:15. Their body massage lasts 90 minutes (60 minutes spa and 30 minutes relaxing time) and costs $65 USD. I got a very nice theraphist and she designed the relaxing moments so well that I felt spa were much longer than 60 min. My friend had a facial one. Her theraphist was also very good at helping her massage shoulders and arms while she was wearing mask. We chose the outside room and the afternoon & evening view was fantastic. will try to upload some pictures later. ![]() 2) Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts The Banyan Tree Resorts is only five-minute drive from Angsana and they are run by the same management group. Since our spa appointment was at 6, we decided to walk around Banyan Tree as well. Because it is private resort, they asked us to make a dinner appointment before allowing us to enter. Banyan Tree Bintan has three places to eat. Saffron is their signature restaurant and there they put table on the rocks next to the sea. We picked a less expensive one called Tree tops, next to their spa room and swimming pool. The illustration below is their swimming pool. The food was indonesia local food and some Wesern beef dishes. Their seaside view is great and the food was okay. ![]() |
